Tournament Rules
Overview
- The ZOG E-sports Series: Valorant Tourney, hosted by ZonedOut Gaming (henceforth referred to as ZOG), is an open tournament.
- Teams will consist of 5 players (individually a “Participant” and together a “Team”), one of whom will be designated “Captain” and will be the main point of contact with ZOG.
- The Tournament is a 2-day event.
- The prizes are as follows:
- Winning team will receive: Rs. 5000 /- cash prize and ZO bronze memberships (worth Rs. 2250 /-)
- 1st Runner-up team will receive: Rs. 2500 /- Cash prize.
- A Fan Favourite team which will be selected based on votes received on Instagram Polls will receive Rs. 1250 /- cash prize.
- All participants will receive a ZOG T-shirts.
- To qualify for participation, all participants must play on their main Riot account.
- Team captains will be invited to join a WhatsApp group for centralised communication prior to and during the Tournament.
- All participants must visit the website link provided below and be completely aware of all rules and regulations set by the ZOG prior to the tournament.
- The PCs, Keyboard, mouse and other accessories will be provided by ZOG for the tournament at no extra cost.
- All team participants must be present 30 minutes prior to their fixture timing.
- Team disqualified by the organizers for reasons such as but not limited to cheating or any form of abuse, not adhering to tournament rules and regulations, will not be entitled for any kind of rematch / reimbursement from ZONED OUT GAMING.
General Rules
Tournament
- The ZOG E-sports Series: Valorant Tourney, hosted by ZOG, is an open tournament. The PCs, Keyboard, mouse and other accessories will be provided at no extra cost.
Commitments
- Every Participant must have a valid Riot Account.
- By participating in The ZOG E-sports Series: Valorant Tourney participants acknowledge they will, without limitation, comply with the tournament rules and with the statements and decisions made by ZOG.
- Every participant acknowledges the right of ZOG to modify the rules and regulations for adjustments at any time without prior notice and if necessary, overrule those to ensure fair play and integrity throughout the tournament.
- Every participant must be respectful towards admins and other participants. Insults and unfair or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated and will be punished in accordance with rules.
- Every team captain must join the WhatsApp group to communicate with Admins. The link to the same will be provided.
- Every participant must try to win every round of the tournament. Purposefully losing for any reason is strictly forbidden and punishable in accordance with rules.
- Vulgar, racist, sexist or otherwise offensive player names are forbidden. This will be at the sole discretion of the tournament admins. Every Participant acknowledges the right of ZOG to edit players’ names if names are deemed unfit for display.

FORMAT AND SCHEDULE
- Tournament Format
- The Tournament is a 2 day, Valorant tournament. The tournament will contain a direct elimination bracket.
- Score metrics
- Preliminary matches will be Best-of-One knockouts. The grand finale will consist Best-of-Three.
- Registration
- All teams must register through the provided google form link with all the necessary details.
- Entry fee per team is Rs.1250/-.
- Schedule
- The ZOG E-sports Series: Valorant Tourney will commence from 2nd March 2024 and the Grand Finale will commence on 3rd March 2024.
- Tournament Restrictions
- Teams must commit to playing the entire Tournament. Team Participants must remain the same for the entirety of the Tournament to ensure a level playing field. Before the tournament starts, if any team under genuine circumstances must change one or many participants, the team captain should inform ZOG.
- Participants cannot be changed once the Tournament has started, ZOG will suggest the next steps and the participant may risk forfeiting their whole Team.
- The decisions made by ZOG will be final.
MATCH TIMING
- Timing
- Match timings with the fixtures will be circulated by the admins in the WhatsApp group after confirmation of registration.
- Rescheduling / Postponing
- Matches will be postponed or rescheduled to another date or time unless determined by ZOG.
- Punctuality
- Matches start at the alloted time. Each participant will have to report 30 mins prior to the match.
- Matches cannot be preponed or postponed for any reason and will start at the alloted time.
- If team(s) are not ready to start at the alloted match time, ZOG in their sole discretion may disqualify the team(s) from the tournament. ZOG may extend the punctuality deadline in exceptional circumstances to get the match played.
BEFORE THE MATCH
- Map Selection
- Map Pool
- The map pool consists of Sunset, Lotus, Pearl, Fracture, Breeze, Icebox, Bind, Haven, Split and Ascent.
- Map Selection Process
- This process will happen at the lobby, for each match. The captains representing each team will have to select between the choice of map or side based on a coin toss. If the winner chooses a map, the other team gets to choose the side (atacker and defender) and vice versa.
DURING THE MATCH
- Match Start & Restarts
- From the time a match begins, Participants are prohibited from intentionally disconnecting from the game. If a Participant or Team disconnects intentionally after the game has started, the game will continue with the remaining players and will not be restarted.
- A Team may request a match restart if the fairness of the game is compromised by an issue outside of the player’s control. Maters that may lead to the match being restarted include but are not limited to:
- Opponent team using 3rd party tools or software in breach of Riot's Terms of Service.
- If the game crashes for one or more players.
- In case of any connectivity or network issues.
- All restart requests need to be flagged to the admins before a restart can be actioned. Evidence to support the request must be shared and the decision will be at the sole discretion of the admin.
- Breach of Rules, Regulations and Guidelines
- If participants are found guilty of bug abuse or in breach of the rules and regulations set, they may face disqualification. All punishment will be at the sole discretion of the ZOG. Disqualified teams will not be applicable for any kind of rematch / refund from ZOG.
AFTER THE MATCH
- Reporting the score
- Each Team Captain must submit a photo of each match score via WhatsApp within 5 minutes of the match ending. This must be a photo of the end game leaderboard. Tournament staff will be monitoring the games.
- Protests
- The protests against any rule violation should be reported with video evidence. Protests that either lack proof or details will be discarded. All protests must be sent to the admins via the WhatsApp group.
RULE VIOLATION AND PUNISHMENT
- Possible Punishments
- The punishments for any rule violations include but are not limited to:
- Loss of one match
- Team/Player disqualification from the Tournament
- Team/Player disqualification from future Tournaments
- Punishments shall be at ZOG's sole discretion
PRIZE
- In the Tournament:
